FAQ

It's recommended to service your bike at least once a year if you're a casual rider. More frequent servicing may be necessary if you ride regularly or in harsh conditions.

Frequent punctures can often be prevented by checking for and removing debris from tires regularly, using puncture-resistant tires, and maintaining proper tire pressure.

If you're unsure which service is right for your bike, start with a premium service to assess its condition. Our team can also help recommend services based on your bike's specific issues and your riding habits.

Service station pumps can sometimes be too powerful for bike tires. Consider using a hand pump or a floor pump designed for bikes, which can provide more control over the amount of air you're adding.

Measure your chain with a chain tool; if it's stretched beyond the 0.75% mark, it's time to replace it to avoid wear on other drivetrain components.

Always check your tire pressure, brakes, and chain before riding. Make sure all bolts are tight and that your wheels are securely fastened.

Store your bike in a dry place and keep it clean. Use a bike-specific lubricant on the chain and other moving parts.

Rinse your bike with water, use a gentle soap to clean the frame and wheels, scrub the drivetrain with a brush and degreaser, then rinse and dry.

Store your bike indoors or under cover to protect it from the elements. Hanging it or using a bike stand can also save space and prevent damage.

For most brakes, you can adjust the tension of the brake cable and the position of the brake pads. Make sure the pads align properly with the rim.

A clicking noise can be caused by a loose component, often in the drivetrain. Check if your chain, pedals, or crank bolts need tightening.

I recently took my bike into Sydney Bike Repairs for a tune-up and was thoroughly impressed. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure my bike was in perfect condition.
